Worked on NSF-funded research project ThEMaT (Thought Experiments in Mathematics Teaching) led by Dan Chazan and Patricio Herbst. The project uses innovative technological tools and a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to study mathematics teachers’ practical rationality and their perception of classroom norms.
I supervise a team of four graduate students working on the project and coordinate their work.  My responsibilities included:  

  • Designing, testing, revising and administering rich-media online surveys.
  • Organizing data collection; managing data and project documentation.
  • Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Writing research reports and preparing publications for professional journals.   

I specialize in creating online educational experiences for pre-service and in-service teachers and work in collaboration with teacher educators who implement these materials with their students.

Responsible for development of learning materials and writing chapters for mathematics textbooks and teacher guides for grades 7 – 9; and for a Resource book on Calculus for secondary mathematics teachers.

Responsible for designing and conducting in-service professional development workshops for middle and high school mathematics teachers.

I designed teaching materials, facilitated class sessions and graded students work and projects. In order to make pre-service teachers’ experiences more practice oriented I organized classroom observations in local schools and meetings with practicing teachers who shared their experience with students.
